Instructions

This cardigan divides into the neckline, front piece, back piece, main body, hem, sleeve warmers, and decorations. First, make the neckline, front and back pieces, and main body. Then crochet the hem at the last round of the main body. After completing these parts, crochet the sleeve tubes, and finally create the decorations.

Part 1 Neckline, front and back pieces, main body and hem

The neckline starts with a foundation chain and is worked back and forth. After completing this section, pick up stitches along one side of the neckline to separately crochet the front piece and the back piece. Then, work and join the front and back pieces simultaneously to crochet the main body. The main body is crocheted in rows with slip stitch seams for several rounds; note that the last few rows are worked back and forth (without slip stitch seams). Finally, crochet the hem around the last round of the main body. The hem is divided into 2 parts: the first part is crocheted through the back loops only, and the second part is crocheted through the front loops only.

Part 2 Sleeve warmers × 2

The sleeve warmer is divided into motifs, the sleeve body, and leaves. For the motifs, except for the first motif, the last round of each motif needs to be joined with a slip stitch at the marked positions (highlighted in red). After completing this, work single crochets evenly along one side of the motif to form the first round of the sleeve body. Then continue to complete the crocheting of the sleeve body. Finally, crochet the leaves to form a strap, which is threaded at the motif position.

Note: For the leaves, crochet one with breaking the yarn and one without breaking the yarn. Then, crochet the tie (crochet chain stitches, about 80cm) and finally leave a yarn tail to sew it onto the leaf that had the yarn broken off to form the strap.

Part 3 Decorations

The decorations are divided into large flowers, small flowers, and leaves. The chart for the large flowers and leaves matches the motif and leaf chart inside the sleeve warmer. After the decorations are completed, sew them onto the corresponding position on the front piece.
