Huali

This shawl consists of the main part, edging, and Chinese frog button. First, crochet the main part, then work the edging at the corresponding positions on the main part, and finally sew on the Chinese frog.

The handcrafted measurements may have an error of 1 to 2 cm. Due to variations in individual tension, the size of the sample is for reference only.

Note:
This pattern is making in Chinese crochet pattern terms, and the stitch name is written using American terminology. All measurements in charts are in cm. 

Part 1 The main part

The main part is divided into two areas: Section 1 and Section 2.

Note: Before crocheting, use 1 lace yarn #8, cut about 5 meters long, and thread all the beads onto it. Set it aside for later use.

Step 1  Section one 02' 33'' ​A1​

Section 1 will start with a foundation chain, and work back and forth along the starting point, increasing stitches evenly during the crocheting process. Please refer to the video demonstration for details.

Note: Starting from the 2nd row, repeat every 6 rows as a group. In the 2nd row of each group, you need to increase stitches. When increasing, pay attention to the number of grids in between so as not to crochet incorrectly. After completing the first 7 rows, the height should be about 4 centimeters. If there's a big difference, it's recommended to adjust your tension and start over.

Step 2 Section two 22' 11'' ​A2​

Section 2 continues to work back and forth upwards along Section 1. Please refer to the video demonstration for details.

Part 2 The edgingB​ 32' 19'' ​

First, crochet 2 rows along the starting chain and both sides of the main part. Then, crochet 1 round around the outer edge. When you reach the last row of Section 2, add beads on the right side of the fabric. For more details, please refer to the video demonstration.

Note: The total number of stitches after completing the first row: 158 stitches on one side of the main part + 209 stitches from the starting chain + 158 stitches on the other side of the main part = 525 stitches.

Part 3 The Chinese frog buttonC​ 53' 40''  ​

The Chinese frog is divided into male and female parts, sewn in the corresponding positions on the edges of the beginning and ending of Section 1 of the main piece. Please refer to the video demonstration for details.
