Monkey King Sweater

This sweater is divided into several parts: front piece, back piece, sleeves, collar, and decorations.

The handcrafted measurements may have an error, the size of the sample is for reference only.
Materials: Susan's Family Alpaca ＆ Sequin Mohair ＆ Gem Twist
Needles ＆ Hook: 3.25 mm circular needle (Hem and Cuff)
3.25 mm short straight needle (Collar)
3.75 mm circular needle (Other parts)
2.00 mm crochet hook (Decorative part)
Stockinette stitch Gauge: 10 × 10 cm = 26 sts × 37 rows

Chart Key

K on RS, P on WS: knit on right side, purl on wrong side

P on RS, K on WS: purl on right side, knit on wrong side

yarn over short row: knit to the turning point in the first row, stop and turn, yarn over before working, and closing the gap when reach the yarn over.

LLI: Left lifted increase: knit next stitch then knit into the stitch 1 row below the stitch just knitted. The resulting increase should slant slightly to the right.

RLI: Right Lifted Increase: insert needle in stitch 1 row below next stitch and knit; then knit the next stitch on the left needle. The resulting increase should slant slightly to the left

Note: 1. This pattern is making in Chinese crochet pattern terms, and the stitch name is written using American terminology. All measurements in charts are in cm. 
2. The chart represent the right side of fabric, so check the key to see how to work a certain symbol on the right side and on the wrong side.

Part 1 Front piece

Note: 1. The left and right on the charts refer to the actual wearing position.
2. Refer to the video demonstration for the embroidery method.
3. Mainly use the intarsia (longitudinal color-carrying) knitting method, and for positions with fewer stitches apart, you can use the jacquard (horizontal color-carrying) knitting method.

Part 2 Back piece

Note: 1. Mainly use the intarsia (longitudinal color-carrying) knitting method, and for positions with fewer stitches apart, you can use the jacquard (horizontal color-carrying) knitting method.
2. The auspicious cloud pattern is embroidered later. When knitting, use two strands of Alpaca-02#Whisper White. After completion, embroider with two strands of Sequin Mohair-02#Samoan Sun. Refer to the video demonstration for the embroidery method.

Part 3 Sleeves

After finishing the knitting of sleeves, sew the side seams. Then sew the side seams of the front and back pieces, and finally sew the sleeves to the armhole positions of the front and back pieces.

Part 4 Collar

Note: The number of stitches picked up for each section can be referenced from the Schematic Diagram, and can also be adjusted as needed. The total number of stitches should be an even number.

Part 5 Decorations

The decorations include skirt armor, sleeve armor, collar, belt, crown decoration, crown band, pom-pom, beads, facial features, and hair.

Note: The left and right here refer to the left and right of the character themselves.

Beads: Use Alpaca-14#Fiery red to secure.
Hair: Use 1 strand of Alpaca-18#Glazed Ginger, and embroider with the outline stitch method.
Facial features outline: First, draw with a water-soluble pen, then pull 1 small strand from 21#Black Beauty, and use the outline stitch method to embroider the eye sockets and mouth. Sew by using the needle for the nose and eyebrows: pass the needle through the nose twice and the eyebrows three times.
Pom-pom: Use the smallest pom-pom maker, with 2 strands of Sequin Mohair-15#Poinsettia Red held together, winding approximately 80 rounds.
