Tianhai

This vest comes in both long and short versions, with almost identical crocheting techniques. It is divided into the body section, the chest piece section, and the strap section, consisting of Motif One, Motif Two, and the border. Actual crocheting using mohair yarn is not easy to undo; other yarns can be used first for practice. When crocheting with hand-dyed yarn, there's no need to match colors.

The handcrafted measurements may have an error, the size of the sample is for reference only.
Materials: South African Soft Mohair Mixed Hand-Knitting Yarn(two strands) &  Sequin Mohair (two strands)

Tool: Susan's Family 11# - 3.00 mm Crochet Hook or regular 3.00 mm Crochet Hook
Note: The garment is crocheted using two strands of yarn held together as one strand.

Chart Key

ch: chain

dc: double crochet

tr: treble crochet

sc: single crochet

sl: slip stitch (tighten it or not)

dc2tog: double crochet 2 stitches together

ch3 sl picot: chain 3, and then join with one slip stitch into both the front loop of the previous stitch and the front leg strand of the previous stitch.

Note:
1. This pattern is making in Chinese crochet pattern terms, and the stitch name is written using American terminology. All measurements in charts are in cm. 

Part 1 Motif 1 , Motif 2 A​ 01' 02'' (Part 1) ​

For Motif One and Motif Two, start with a chain ring method and crochet in rounds counterclockwise. When crocheting, pay attention: the last round should be worked and joined simultaneously according to the joining diagram.  Please refer to the video demonstration for more details.

Note: Apart from the first complete Motif One, the rest of the motifs should be worked and joined along the side for the last round. Before joining, make sure to stagger the placement of similar colors in adjacent motifs.

Part 2 Edging B​ 16' 54'' ​

The edging is crocheted on the neckline, cuffs, and hem after the joining together is completed. The crochet method is almost identical. Please refer to the video demonstration for more details.
